Textbook: Precalculus, by J. Douglas Faires and James DeFranza, Brooks/Cole, ISBN 0-534-25236-2. Students will need a scientific calculator. Catalog Description. MATH 1113. Pre-Calculus (3-0-3) This course is designed to prepare students for calculus, physics, and related technical subjects. Topics include an intensive study of algebraic and transcendental functions accompanied by analytic geometry
Notes. Calculators may be used on all tests. Students are responsible for all assignments made in class. Course Outline: See Departmental Syllabus. You may obtain the syllabus from the Mathematics Department Web Page. Follow the links from Department Information. Six tests plus a final exam will be given. The final exam is recorded as two test scores which will give a total of 8 test scores. Students may drop lowest test score. Your final exam score will be substituted for any test missed during the semester. If you do not take the final, your score on any missed test is zero. Makeup Tests. There are no makeup tests. Your final exam score will be substituted for any test missed during the semester. Final Grade. Tests + Final will count 100 percent of your final grade.

Class attendance policy is that given in the 1999/2000 Columbus State University Catalog. Students should have nothing else scheduled meeting time of this class.
