Textbook: Calculus with Student Solution Manual 1 + 2 by Larson/Hostetler/Edwards, 6th Edition, Houghton Mifflin, Publisher ISBN 0-395-946816

 Catalog Description. MATH 1131. Calculus with Analytic Geometry 1 (4-0-4) Prerequisite: MATH 1112 or MATH 1113. Topics include analytic geometry, introduction to limits and derivatives, computation and application of derivatives, integrals, exponential and logarithmic functions.

Test 1 -- Chapter 1, Test 2 -- Chapter 2, Test 3 -- Chapter 3 Sections 3.1-3.6, Test 4 -- Chapter 3 Sections 3.7-3.10, Test 5 -- Chapter 4, Test 6 -- Chapter 5.  Final Exam -- Chapters 1-5. 


Notes. Calculators may be used on all tests. Students are responsible for all assignments made in class.

Six tests plus a final exam will be given. The final exam is recorded as two test scores which will give a total of 8 test scores. Students may drop lowest test score. Your final exam score will be substituted for any test missed during the semester. If you do not take the final, your score on any missed test is zero.

Makeup Tests. There are no makeup tests. Your final exam score will be substituted for any test missed during the semester.

Final Grade. Tests + Final will count 100 percent of your final grade. 

 


Withdrawal Policy: See Department Information Deadline for withdrawal without receiving a WF is the midterm of the course. See schedule booklet for midterm of the fall 2000 semester. 

Class attendance policy is that given in the 2000/2001 Columbus State University Catalog. Students should have nothing else scheduled meeting time of this class. If you have a conflict, please contact your instructor. See Department Information

Class behavior. Disruptive students may be dismissed without warning and given a "WF" course grade.

Final exam is Wednesday, May 2nd, 6:15-8:15 PM.
