      • The Bulletin thread IQScoresSeventhGraders message 36 has an attachment.  Download (click on attachment to bring up the download dialog box) that attachment to the same directory as your ActivStats student file directory.  This attachment contains the data in a format suitable for ActivStats.

      • Select IQScores

      • Perform the windows commands: Manip => Sample

      •   In the dialog box => Enter 25.7% for the percent of the cases to be sampled  (about 20 cases for this data set).  Enter 50 for the number of samples to draw.  Now click ok.

      • This will generate a folder called Random Samples. Select this folder (click on it). Then  click edit and  click select all.  This will select all 50 samples.

      • Make sure mean is one of your summary statistics.  Perform the following windows commands.  Calc => Summaries => As Variables

      • This will generate a summary folder.  Select the variable labeled Mean(Summary1).  Now you can plot a histogram of this set of means and compare to the histogram for the original IQScores.

      • See bulletin message IQScoresSeventhGraders.  This message has an attachment with the data for problem 10.8.
